This new section of the manual provides both community workers and tenants with information regarding court action where the tenant is unable to appear. The section provides details of what the tenant should do before they move and how another person can proceed to the court on behalf of the tenant.

After notification some time ago by the Water Authority of changes to billing methods TAS produced a 1999 update of the Water Charges Chapter 2.5. This update was due to become available in June 1999, however due to lack of communication on the part of the Water Authority the information that was to be provided is now inaccurate. TAS advises that all copies of chapter 2.5 be withdrawn and that where there are queries regarding water contact be made with TAS or the Water Authority directly.
After discovering some Tenants Rights Manuals in some organisations are way out of date (with information that is now incorrect due to amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act 1987) we would like to give people a guide to checking if their Tenants Rights Manual is up to date:
The first edition of the Tenants Rights Manual was produced in 1993. This edition of the Manual is out of date.
The edition was replaced by the Tenants Rights Manual 2nd Edition 1996 .
Since this time there have been one series of updates in November 1997. You can check to see you have these updates by looking at the contents page at the front of the Manual and ensuring the date at the bottom of the page is November 1997.
People who have out of date Tenants Rights Manuals are encouraged to purchase a new Tenants Rights Manual as this will include all of the correct and up to date information and is contained in a larger folder for easier use.
